Fishing on the Salcha
No luck cathing any fish but we had a blast fishing for salmon on Friday night at Chena Lakes Rec. Area and last night at the Big Salcha River. Kaden LOVES being outside! We had great weather and a good time. Even had a campfire with hotdogs and smores! I love summertime!!

Happy Birthday to me!
Well, I'm a little late on updating the blog. But we celebrated my birthday on Monday. We had a great day! And I made out like a bandit! Got lots of fun things! And cash/giftcards that I have been enjoying spending.

Summer memories
We have had a good week here. Finally getting some cooler temperatures later this week...and some much needed rain. Kaden is always on the go these days...crawling EVERYWHERE!! and pulling himself up to stand on EVERYTHING!! :) It is fun to watch but we've got our hands full!

Alaska and us
in Alaskan news...
Sarah Palin stepped down as our governor.
I guess she would rather be prez in 2012.
We'll see how that works out for her.
There are 48 fires actively burning in AK.
Forest fires are big up here.
Fairbanks is a smokey place at the moment.
Since June 21st (the longest day of the year,
with over 22 hrs daylight!!),
We have been losing an average of 5 minutes of daylight per day.
Fall will be here soon.
Since July 1, we have had weather of 80+ degrees EVERY day.
Might as well be in the VA heat...
but there is no humidity here...
just mosquitos. :)
in Grant news...
July is my favorite month
(second only to December because of Christmas!!)
This July...
... will mark me and Jon's 2nd year wedding anniversery.
... will mark my 27th birthday ( I perpetually feel like I'm still 24)
... will mark my two year anniversery of living in Fairbanks.
In other July news...
... it is also Tabitha & Courtney's ONE year anniversery.
... my mother-in-law's birthday is the same as mine.
... i like cake. good thing it is birthday time.

Fun at Pioneer Park
Happy 4th of July!! There were activities all day at Pioneer Park. So we took Kaden. We visited the Air Museum that is there. It is small but it was a good place to cool off. And both boys loved it!!

New fun toys!
Since Kaden can crawl now, we got a fun jeep toy for him to play in. He loves it. We love it because it keeps him "contained" while we are trying to get things done around the house.

Gold diggers!
Did you know that people still gold mine up here in AK? Well, we all went on a trip to the El Dorado Gold Mine to pan for some gold. We each went home with some too. Kajsa and Tim had theirs weighed and they had a whopping $25 worth! Not too shabby!
