The countdown

The countdown has begun! I am so excited that I will be flying to Virginia on Friday to visit with family and friends for a week! Sadly 5000 miles of flying adds up to two days in the air, but atleast I will have five days at home!

Seeing my family is going to be such a treat! Reintroducing everyone to Kaden again is so exciting too!

Please put us on your list to pray for. Traveling with an almost 6 month old is a new experience for us, and I'm hoping that it goes smoothly.

Having dinner with the hubby and his bro, Matt. Gotta run!

SPRING has sprung!!!

Well, good news!! We are loving our warm weather. It got to 68 degrees yesterday!! It is hard to believe since we got snow last week (just a bit) but we welcome it! I posted some pics from this March and then some from this morning. My, what a difference a month can make!! Yea for spring!

Uh ohh...

Well, I guess what they say is true. "No use crying over spilled milk!" I didn't think I would be cleaning up spills from Kaden until he was feeding and drinking himself, but I was wrong. During breakfast this morning, Kaden got ahold of my milk cup and totally spilled it all over me and him. It was cold!! But he thought it was great fun. And had to play in his mess. So I had to take a picture! The adventures never stop...

My farmer boys

So my farmer husband decided a few weeks ago to start some plants growing in the house (since it is still too cold out and the ground is snow covered). So check out our pumpkins! They are doing the best!! Jon spent some time tonight transplanting the pumpins from little containers to their new homes, milk jugs. Kaden thought it was very fascinating and wanted to touch everything!! that would mean ripping the plant right out of the soil though so daddy kept his hands in check!

Hanging with Grandpa!

Today was a good day. We had church this morning and then spent the evening with Jon's folks, hanging out. We have a tradition of playing dominoes. Let me tell you, the competitive spirits come out! I can't remember who won but we always have fun.

And who do you think is trying to pick up all the dominoes and eat them? Kaden!! These days, he is curious about everything...and wants to put everything in his mouth. No dominoes for him, but he does loves chewing on his book and hanging out with Grandpa Grant.

yup, chewing on everything...

Mama and Kaden time...spelled out!

Kaden and I had a mommy-and-me day together. We got up early and took daddy to work. We lunched with my friend, Rebecca, at Chili's. We went shopping at Walmart after a short little drive, to help Kaden fall asleep. We took a bath this afternoon and have been playing tonight!! I dug out the blocks today cuz Kaden is loving playing with everything in his toy box. He is so good at picking up things! I found out that these truly are K-A-D-E-N's blocks!

Happy Easter!

What a good reminder Easter is to thank the Lord for all he has given, namely his son. Our sermon at church had a good closing. The significance of easter is not the old rugged cross but the empty tomb. How true is that!! We had a good morning of worship and had 50 degree weather! That is truly a taste of Spring...and we welcome it!! We took a walk last night around downtown. It was in the 40s and really nice to just be outside...and together.

Took some fun pictures at church today to celebrate Kaden's 1st Easter!!

yucky tummy

update. after a great weekend and good dr. appointment, kaden threw up a few times last night. i was at work but jon did a great job with daddy "sick baby" duty. more pukes this evening and then diarrhea so i think he definitely has a stomach bug.

speaking of which, be praying for jon's dad. he was hospitalized today with dehydration due to a stomach bug himself. he is doing okay, just trying to get him on the up and up before he goes home.

we need some healthyness up in this family!!! keep everyone in your prayers!! :)

New outfit!

Since it is Easter time, Kaden got some new clothes from Mormor and Poppy. Check out his super cute vest and shirt that he wore to church on Sunday. I couldn't get him to give me many smiles on Sunday morning, but he still looks cute to me!!

snazzy new outfit

Funny friends

Had a busy weekend here in Fairbanks. I had Saturday off, which was such a treat! As of Friday, Kaden's cough and breathing was much better. After having a fussy baby for a week, it was so nice to have my happy baby back. Me and Kaden went shopping with Grandma Grant and had a blast. Jon went to a shooting range to practice his bow and got some shopping done on his own. Sunday, we had church and lunch with Jon's folks and Jon's brother, Dan. Then, me and Kaden came home to nap and hang out. Jon and Dan went snow machining out at his parent's place in Salcha, which Jon thought was great!

Today, Kaden had a dr. appointment to check his breathing. No more wheezing which is great news!! The office is close to the house so we walked home and took Kaden's stroller. Its like 30 degrees today and everything is melting. It was a slippery walk home but it was nice to be outside!

Luke, Charity, Wrangall & Stryder were up on Sunday night for a visit. It was quick visit, but it was great to see them. We had an adventure while we were watching Wrangall at Jon's folks. What we thought was a smelly "toot," ended up being explosive diarrhea...that made it onto the floor, his clothes, our clothes, etc. So Wrangall got a bath! And we have quite the story to tell! Poor guy must've had some kind of an upset stomach. But he was better after the bath...and smelled of mango shampoo instead of....well, you know... :0)

Jumpin' Around

Well after being sick for a week, Kaden is finally back to acting like himself. I didn't even realize how cranky he has been until he was back to his happy, smiley self today. And then I was thinking, wow! he must've relaly been feeling rough.

His breathing seems better. We are still doing the inhaler every 4 hours to help with the wheezing except at night. No more tylenol for him right now, and I think his legs are back to normal after his shots on Wednesday.

Anyway, he has been learning how to actually jump in this toy. And we finally caught it on tape!!

Oh fuun! A package!!

Daddy got a package in the mail today. Kaden thought it was great fun to help open it!!

Born a hunter...

Jon got a coyote call in the mail today. Kaden thought it was quite fun to listen to!
